21 Days of Prayer, Day 4
Yesterday’s post focused on the clear things we need to stop in 2019: if it’s a sin issue, that should be on your stop doing list! Not everything is so clear. We also have particular vocations and relationships in our lives that require wisdom in how we prioritize our time and energy.
Is there one thing in your life right now that isn’t a bad thing it just isn’t the best thing for you to spend time on this year?
Sometimes we know God has opened one door which means we close another. For example, when you say yes to one job offer you say no to others; you stop posting resumes and interviewing with companies.
Other times you need wisdom to stop doing something that is fine on its own (like a weekend hobby) to say yes to something specific that God is asking you to do (like completing a degree). In these instances you need to apply godly wisdom.
Take time to read Proverbs 1:7 and Proverbs 3:5-6.
- Humble your heart before God. Take time to be in awe of Him and the amazing thing it is that God loves and will help you.
- Think about the major areas you spend time at home, work, and play.
- Pray: Ask God for insight on anything that should be let go of in order to have the time and energy for the things you know you want to do this year.
- Pray: Will you pray for the leadership of Harvest as well, that we would have insight into the greatest priorities for the church in 2019?
